DTE controls the personal data in this app, under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.
What we keep
Your name, work email and role; the records you create and who changed what; each sign-in with its time, IP address and device; and your questions to Otice. About customers: their contacts, and event leads only with their consent to be contacted.
Why
To run DTE’s work, to keep the system secure and accountable, and, for leads, because they agreed.
Where
The app runs on a private server (VPS) on Microsoft Azure, with an Oracle database. Encrypted backups are kept in Cloudflare R2 in the EU. Emails go through Resend, Microsoft handles DTE sign-in, and what you ask Otice goes to OpenAI or Anthropic. Some of this is outside Kenya, with the safeguards the Act requires.
How long
As long as DTE needs it and the law requires. Backups are kept up to twelve months.
Your rights
To see, correct or delete your data, to object, and to withdraw consent; and to complain to the Data Protection Commissioner. Ask a DTE administrator.
